Australia Biosecurity Requirements Before FBA Shipping
Australia applies biosecurity controls not only to the products themselves but also to packaging and containers. Before inventory leaves China, the applicable conditions should be checked through Australia’s Biosecurity Import Conditions system (BICON).
Goods containing plant, animal, timber or other biosecurity-risk materials may require specific treatment, permits, certificates or declarations. Even products that are normally straightforward can face delays if the container or packaging contains soil, insects, seeds or other contamination.

Packing Declaration for Sea Freight to Amazon FBA Australia
Containerised sea freight entering Australia generally requires an accurate Packing Declaration for both FCL and LCL shipments. Yes, certain China-origin shipments can receive additional attention during Australia’s Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) season, which runs from 1 September to 30 April.
For the 2026–27 season, China is classified as an emerging-risk country under Australia’s BMSB measures. Certain goods shipped from China between 1 September 2026 and 30 April 2027 may be selected for random onshore inspection. Mandatory BMSB treatment is not automatically required solely because a shipment originates in China.
